It's practically impossible to open a shelter magazine without seeing the succulent trend in action – page after page, succulent after succulent. But the trend hasn't stopped there. Floral design professionals are now seeing wedding customers asking to integrate on-trend succulents into centerpieces, boutonnieres, and even bouquets.

Tom Bowling AIFD, CFD, PFCI uses this video to demonstrate an intriguing way to infuse a bouquet with a touch of artificial succulent style.

He begins with the artificial desert rose succulent pick from Pioneer Imports & Wholesale. On its own, this artificial succulent is handsome and stately – a selection that immediately catches the eye. For the chosen bouquet composition, the color would make a spectacular complement.

But as Tom points out, this substantial artificial succulent might be a little too heavy for this specific application. His solution is quick and easy, and readily applies to a wide variety of other artificial succulent picks on the market today.

Tom takes a moment to split the outer casing on the stem and divides the artificial desert rose succulent into thirds. He adds his own stems – left over from previous projects – and adds them to each section. Now he can add these artificial succulent sections into the bouquet individually, rather than as one large placement.

Spreading out the artificial succulent sections not only balances the bouquet visually, but it also distributes the physical weight better as well.

Next, Tom does the same thing with a selection of wholesale artificial rosemary from Pioneer. He trims the sprigs apart and attaches more leftover stems with floral tape but notes that you could easily use wire instead of stems if none are available. He mentions the importance of using the tape to cover any wire ends that may be exposed. Now you can add the artificial rosemary in singles or doubles or however you want.

The artificial desert rose succulent brings sophisticated color, while the silk rosemary enhances the profile with a loose airy look. Together, these selections enhance the texture profile tremendously. Simple additions like this can take a bouquet from traditional to on-trend – and with the value maximizing tips Tom shows here, you can do so without a significant hit to the budget.

Video: Victoria Eucalyptus Collection 2

Are you looking for a wholesale permanent botanical series with versatile widespread appeal? Tom bowling AIFD, CFD, PFCI introduces one possible solution in this quick video. Highlighted is the silk silver dollar eucalyptus range from the Victoria Collection, which Tom introduces with a few useful hints.

The beautiful Victoria Collection silk eucalyptus – as Tom points out – is made using a silk screen technique, giving it incredible depth of detail and dimension.

Victoria silk silver dollar eucalyptus is available in three forms. These are the wreath, the garland, and the bush. Tom suggests taking advantage of all three to build a collection to demonstrate the capabilities of the silk eucalyptus aesthetic and to give customers a diverse palette to draw from. He takes a moment to touch on the potential of each format.

Tom begins with the garland. The silk eucalyptus garland makes a fantastic runner, easily stretching down the table. These could be anchored in place with some dry foam to create a base for building visual interest areas. Of course, the silk garland could also be used as a vertical piece as well.

The pick, or small spray, can be taken apart and dissected as Tom points out. He loves how the grey tone so easily melds with other colors. The silk silver dollar eucalyptus can be that bridge element that really blends other colors together for a harmonious look.

Tom covers the silk eucalyptus wreath last. While many people look and think “this goes on the wall” or “this goes on the door”, Tom offers a reminder about how powerful these wreaths can be as a centerpiece. You could use the silk eucalyptus wreath by itself, accessorized with some votive candles or silk flowers, or you could place a piece of statuary in the center.

When it comes to permanent botanical wreaths like this one, Tom suggests buying more than just one – buying multiples allows you to highlight the many ways to display them. Show one as a wall piece, another as a centerpiece, and have some available for customers to accessorize on their own.

You can find all these Victoria Collection silk eucalyptus formats available from the Pioneer Imports & Wholesale catalog, along with so many other wholesale silk flowers and accessories to make them your own.

Video: Hanging Philo Branch & Orchid

One of many bold and exciting selections from the “It’s a Jungle in Here” collection by Pioneer Imports & Wholesale, the artificial philodendron selloum offers instant drama for a variety of permanent botanical applications.

Tom Bowling AIFD, CFD, PFCI takes a few moments to demonstrate an innovative way to use this versatile foliage in this walkthrough video. He begins by pointing out the growing popularity of hanging centerpieces, a trend that is especially picking up speed in event work.

With just two elements, Tom creates a sample suspension design you can quickly and easily customize for your own needs.

First, Tom starts with the impressive 52” artificial philo from Pioneer. This demonstration will also involve three silk phalaenopsis orchid stems (also from Pioneer) in brilliant orchid purple.

Tom gathers the wholesale silk orchids in the center, then secures them to the artificial philo with bind wire. He ties them in place right at the desired anchor point – where the arrangement will be suspended.

This dramatic pop of color really brings character and visual interest to the piece. Of course, it would be easy to swap out the silk orchids to suit a different theme. The artificial philo branch pairs well with a wide variety of color and texture complements.

While Tom notes that you do not have to do anything to the end of the artificial philo stem, he does give it a quick curl for this demonstration. He does this by simply wrapping the flexible stem around his finger. The curled stem is a little more visually interesting than the straight one, an enhancement to the line interest that helps to capture the eye.

You can see as Tom hangs the resulting composition that it takes on a smooth and elegant umbrella shape, a lovely draping effect that draws the eye across the arrangement with a sweeping motion.

The finished composition, and other suspended arrangements like it, can be a fantastic way to make a statement – especially in a venue with a high ceiling. Lofty ceilings can dampen the visual impact of low centerpieces when decorations are kept to a single level. All that unused vertical space is a blank canvas worth utilizing.

Walking into a tall venue and seeing this type of suspended arrangement, hanging at multiple points and grouped together, would be sure to create a magnificent presentation and a striking first impression.

You can find the artificial philo branch and the silk orchids used in this video available from the Pioneer Imports & Wholesale catalog – along with a diverse variety of other wholesale artificial foliage and silk flower options. Let Pioneer help you create spectacular arrangements suited to any venue or event.
