Video: Victoria Eucalyptus Collection 2

Are you looking for a wholesale permanent botanical series with versatile widespread appeal? Tom bowling AIFD, CFD, PFCI introduces one possible solution in this quick video. Highlighted is the silk silver dollar eucalyptus range from the Victoria Collection, which Tom introduces with a few useful hints.

The beautiful Victoria Collection silk eucalyptus – as Tom points out – is made using a silk screen technique, giving it incredible depth of detail and dimension.

Victoria silk silver dollar eucalyptus is available in three forms. These are the wreath, the garland, and the bush. Tom suggests taking advantage of all three to build a collection to demonstrate the capabilities of the silk eucalyptus aesthetic and to give customers a diverse palette to draw from. He takes a moment to touch on the potential of each format.

Tom begins with the garland. The silk eucalyptus garland makes a fantastic runner, easily stretching down the table. These could be anchored in place with some dry foam to create a base for building visual interest areas. Of course, the silk garland could also be used as a vertical piece as well.

The pick, or small spray, can be taken apart and dissected as Tom points out. He loves how the grey tone so easily melds with other colors. The silk silver dollar eucalyptus can be that bridge element that really blends other colors together for a harmonious look.

Tom covers the silk eucalyptus wreath last. While many people look and think “this goes on the wall” or “this goes on the door”, Tom offers a reminder about how powerful these wreaths can be as a centerpiece. You could use the silk eucalyptus wreath by itself, accessorized with some votive candles or silk flowers, or you could place a piece of statuary in the center.

When it comes to permanent botanical wreaths like this one, Tom suggests buying more than just one – buying multiples allows you to highlight the many ways to display them. Show one as a wall piece, another as a centerpiece, and have some available for customers to accessorize on their own.

You can find all these Victoria Collection silk eucalyptus formats available from the Pioneer Imports & Wholesale catalog, along with so many other wholesale silk flowers and accessories to make them your own.

Video: Glacial Garden Collection

Are you excited to start building up your collection of winter-themed permanent botanicals? Winter can be a season of magnificent beauty and high spirits – but for designers, winter is marked not by the snowfall but by the schedule pages packed with events and obligations.

Tom bowling AIFD, CFD, PFCI introduces a few time-saving permanent botanical products in this quick video.

The gorgeous Glacial Garden Collection by Pioneer Imports & Wholesale captures that winter feeling with luminous frost over silk flowers and artificial foliage, those mainstays of the winter season that clients are always looking for.

Tom begins by introducing the wreath. He notes the pre-attached artificial pinecones, the realistic snowy berries, the warm and welcoming silk ranunculus – and of course, all of it coated with a fine layer of that beautiful seasonal frost effect.

With this artificial pine wreath, you can go right from package to display just after a few simple adjustments to bring out the volume. Or, as Tom notes, you can go even further and add a little bit of ribbon trim for a customized look. This piece is a versatile canvas for accessories.

Tom focuses his attention on the spray format next. It has all the same materials mixed in, great for display on its own or with your own creative additions.

This brings Tom to the swag. This piece comes with artificial twig backing to serve as a sturdy base. It can go on the wall, on the door, above the door… the list goes on.

But as Tom demonstrates, the swag is also a fantastic candidate for centerpiece work. He pulls out a wooden box filled with blocks of dry floral foam as an example. Tom explains how you can use hairpins to secure the swag to the box, then build upward if desired using additional materials and trim – but the genius of this piece is that half the work is already done for you.

Get inspired with the Glacial Garden Collection! Save time, money, and effort with these helpful compositions you can use on their own or as building blocks to create the whimsical winter arrangements your clients crave.

You can find the Glacial Garden supplies highlighted in this video all readily available within the Pioneer Imports & Wholesale catalog – along with a spectrum of silk flowers, artificial foliage, wholesale ribbon, and winter-themed accessories to help you get the season off to a productive start.

Video: Succulent Design in Elephant Planter

Amy Lombardo - Monday, November 11, 2019
Video Summary written for Pioneer Imports & Wholesale by: Lisa B.

In this video, floral designer Tom Bowling AIFD, CFD, PFCI takes a few moments to discuss the enduring succulent trend. Tom begins by mentioning its widespread effect – open any type of shelter magazine or interior design magazine, and you are sure to find succulents somewhere in the pages. Succulents are even holding strong in wedding work!

Tom cautions that fresh is a limited medium in this regard. That extra TLC factor has an immediate effect on the bottom line without providing much aesthetic benefit over the quality permanent botanical options available today.

Keeping this in mind, Tom creates a playful demonstration arrangement using wholesale artificial succulents from Pioneer Imports & Wholesale.

He starts with a charming elephant container, also available from Pioneer. Tom mentions that this lighthearted selection holds a fun millennial type of millennial aesthetic – a fitting choice considering how strongly succulent designs appeal to the millennial market in general.

Tom prepares the container with a small block of dry floral foam. His first insertion is the artificial ruffled succulent pick in burgundy and green. He trims a pair of picks and places them to one side of the container.

Next, Tom adds the artificial pencil succulent in muted green gray. This handsome pick fills out the center with tremendous volume.

You will notice that Tom’s choices encompass a range of textures, shapes, and color. Just like with any other permanent botanical arrangement, artificial succulent designs require just as much attention to grouping and variation to create compositions that really pop.

Artificial rosette picks are next, carrying the burgundy palette over to the other side of the container for balance. Tom adds a dash of bright green artificial echeveria as the final addition – a standout selection he tucks into the back.

The result really brings the gold elephant container to life.

You can find each of the wholesale artificial succulents used in this demonstration available from the Pioneer Imports & Wholesale catalog. With the succulent trend holding strong, it pays to be prepared for that next customer or client who can’t get enough of these fascinating selections.

Video: Adelaide Iced Eucalyptus

Amy Lombardo - Monday, November 04, 2019
Video Summary written for Pioneer Imports & Wholesale by: Lisa B.

Are you looking for an artificial foliage option that offers a unique sense of variation? In this video, Tom Bowling AIFD, CFD, PFCI introduces a spectacular silk eucalyptus sure to inspire fresh ideas for your project.

Adelaide Iced Eucalyptus is a brilliantly detailed silk eucalyptus product available from Pioneer Imports & Wholesale. Tom takes a moment to walk through a few of the features that really set this permanent botanical apart from the rest.

Tom describes the reasons he admires this collection. He begins with the wreath, applauding its fantastic shape and sense of detail. The seeds really make this silk eucalyptus wreath stand out – adding so much texture and depth for impactful visual interest. And as Tom points out, those who look closely can even see a fine “frost” of mica.

This iced effect is even more pronounced after Tom adjusts the positioning of the silk foliage. Tom notes how important it is to take the time to really open and adjust materials after they come out of the package – a smart way to double the volume of wholesale silk foliage to get twice the value for the money.

Next, Tom moves on to the Adelaide Iced Eucalyptus Bush. This silk eucalyptus bush can be placed into a small container as it stands, or the twelve stems can be separated for individual use. Tom describes this as another way to get the most value from a selection, making it easier to adjust your budget according to how many projects you can complete with just one artificial bush.

One feature Tom really likes about this artificial eucalyptus bush is the adjustability of the silk foliage. If you need the leaves closer to the top you can slide them up. Or if you want to create negative space, you can customize the silk leaves as desired.

You can find both options – the foliage and the wreath – available from the Pioneer Imports & Wholesale catalog. Let the Adelaide Iced Eucalyptus collection bring another dimension of texture and color to your next permanent botanical arrangement.

Video: Grand Manor Collection - Centerpieces

Amy Lombardo - Wednesday, October 30, 2019
Video Summary written for Pioneer Imports & Wholesale by: Lisa B.

In this video, Tom Bowling introduces a grand permanent botanical centerpiece concept that offers versatile functionality – especially for event work. Elevated centerpieces provide several distinct benefits worth considering for your next project.

The example centerpiece Tom shows off here is inspired by the Grand Manor Collection by Pioneer Imports & Wholesale.

One of the first things you might notice about this centerpiece is how rich and elegant the colors are – the antique pink of the silk wisteria, the muted green of the artificial eucalyptus, the deep burgundy of the silk small petal hydrangea. These beautiful Grand Manor permanent botanicals are a fantastic complement to the brass stand that supports them.

Tom goes on to explain a little bit more about the stand, a tall candelabra. To create this centerpiece, Tom attached a Pioneer Imports & Wholesale wreath (silk rose, silk dahlia, and silk peony) to the arms of the candelabra with a few short lengths of wire, then built up from there.

This gives the centerpiece an elevated and suspended look. Tom takes a moment to describe why this elevated approach is so useful.

First, Tom mentions one of the most common complaints about centerpieces at events – the flowers sometimes get in the way of conversation. Elevated permanent botanical centerpieces like this one keeps that "conversation level" of the table clear and open so guests can communicate, while still offering the beauty of an impressive centerpiece overhead.

Other types of events can benefit from this technique as well. Tom describes buffets as one example. In this situation, the silk flowers are set right at eye level while leaving the table below clear and open.

You can find the permanent botanical supplies used in this example centerpiece available from the Pioneer Imports & Wholesale catalog – from the Grand Manor Collection silk flowers and incredible wholesale wreath to a variety of other options in a diverse array of versatile colorways.

Video: Product Spotlight - Hydrangea Stems

Amy Lombardo - Tuesday, October 29, 2019
Video Summary written for Pioneer Imports & Wholesale by: Lisa B.

You can barely open a shelter magazine, or even Pinterest, without seeing the presence of beautiful bountiful hydrangea.

Tom Bowling AIFD, CFD, PFCI notes how this is one of those all-time favorite flowers in home decor and especially in event work. In this quick video, Tom takes a moment to introduce a selection of silk hydrangea products available from Pioneer Imports & Wholesale and explains how these permanent botanicals can simplify so many of those big events for floral designers.

Of course, as Tom points out, fresh hydrangea is especially susceptible to wilting. This is even more true when it comes to certain outdoor venues and lengthy all-day events – for example, when a bride wants to be photographed early in the day when the event is scheduled much later.

Tom mentions the versatility of wholesale silk hydrangea in these types of situations. Many brides may be open to the idea of combining fresh and silk hydrangea to create arrangements that continue looking fresh and delightful all through the event.

On the table are several types of wholesale silk hydrangea and Tom takes a moment to introduce each one. He points out the lovely soft color palette of the first group. The light pinks, pale blues, and gentle greens – something that will appeal to every bride.

On the other side of the table is the larger silk hydrangea available from Pioneer. Tom describes these as great not just for bouquets, but also for decoration around a reception venue and other locations. Working these permanent botanicals into venue decoration allows professionals to do some of the work far in advance without ever having to worry about the hydrangeas crashing or wilting in the meantime.

You can find the silk hydrangeas highlighted in this video available directly from the Pioneer Imports & Wholesale catalog, along with so many other permanent botanical products that can streamline your events in style.

Video: Vanilla Dream Design

Amy Lombardo - Monday, September 23, 2019
Video Summary written for Pioneer Imports & Wholesale by: Lisa B.

Monobotanical arrangements an especially popular look right now. Monobotanical refers to arrangements that use just one type of silk flower, a straightforward look that offers a surprising amount of flexibility.

In this video, talented designer Tom Bowling AIFD, CFD, PFCI creates an inspiring monobotanical arrangement to show just how gorgeous this style can be. His choice of permanent botanical for this demonstration is a selection of wholesale silk cabbage rose from Pioneer Imports & Wholesale, using just two colorways from the tremendous spectrum available within the catalog.

Tom will also be working a touch of silk foliage into the design. His selections are silk silver dollar eucalyptus and intricate artificial maidenhair fern, both wholesale foliage options from Pioneer.

The base for this design is the elegant “Mallory” glass compote in silver, prepared before the video with a block of dry floral foam. Tom begins by styling the perimeter with the artificial fern, working his way from one side of the compote to the other.

You may notice that he hadn’t added any moss or other cover to conceal the floral foam. He begins that step next, working the moss around the outside. He uses only the most sparing amount to keep the composition looking nice and clean.

Next, Tom changes up the texture with silk eucalyptus. He describes his technique for creating a more natural look, manipulating each piece into a more lifelike position after insertion.

After creating a sweeping line across the composition with the artificial eucalyptus, Tom begins to add the silk cabbage rose. He draws special attention to the vanilla dream coloration, a nice warm option with a soft and friendly look.

Tom offers a few tips about the silk cabbage rose foliage. Sometimes he gently slides the foliage upward along the stem for prominence, and other times he removes it. He saves this silk foliage for later compositions – a smart way to stretch a supplies budget and prevent material waste. Another way he stretches his budget is using bush-format products rather than individual stems.

Silk cabbage rose in the chalk colorway is the next addition. Tom places these with careful attention to depth, making sure to preserve negative space. He comes back and fills in the design with more silk foliage, using the lacy maidenhair fern to balance out the heavier greens.

The result is a small and compact colonial design that would look great anywhere. Tom notes that you could easily transform this into an oblong shape – perhaps for a dramatic centerpiece – by taking some of the longer silk foliage placements to the outside edge.

This composition came together in just minutes, showing just how brilliantly simple monobotanical arrangements can be.

You can find all the supplies used in this demonstration available within the Pioneer Imports & Wholesale catalog. Explore the rest of the fascinating silk cabbage rose colorations, or branch out and browse hundreds of other silk flower and foliage options for your next monobotanical creation.

Video: How To: Design an Arrangement for Fall

Amy Lombardo - Friday, September 20, 2019
Video Summary written for Pioneer Imports & Wholesale by: Lisa B.

Autumn is approaching and that means it’s time to start getting equipped with those seasonal permanent botanical essentials for those festive fall arrangements.

Fall is a wonderful time of the year when the seasons change – and the color palettes along with them. In this video, Tom Bowling uses permanent botanical supplies from Pioneer Imports & Wholesale to create a gorgeous arrangement using the dramatic colors and textures of fall. Follow along to create your own take on this fantastic accent to help your customers and clients into that autumn spirit.

The best part? This arrangement only requires a small variety of components. From simple and straightforward permanent botanicals comes an eye-catching result everyone will love.

Tom builds this arrangement within the elevated “Bam” bamboo basket. He notes that those who keep up with the interior and shelter magazines will have noticed these charming handcrafted baskets coming back into vogue. This one has been prepared with dry floral foam bricks and a perimeter of moss along the outside.

Wholesale wheat clusters are the first addition. Tom lays these in place, then pins them down for security.

You will notice that when attaching certain pieces, Tom uses discarded pieces of stem from previous projects. This eliminates the need to cut a bunch of individual wires and makes it easier to create more compositions in a timely manner.

Next, Tom begins to add selections of beautiful silk fern – the Hanging Spiny Wood Fern Bush from Pioneer. He makes sure these initial insertions drop over the edge to create an elegant “spill” aesthetic, taking advantage of the extra height this raised container provides.

This spill invokes feelings of abundance. As a harvest season, this abundance is what that fall look is all about.

He creates a short overhang of silk fern on one side and a long graceful spill on the other. He takes care to bring shorter pieces through the center to draw the eye across the entire arrangement, touching each component.

Tom notes that texture of this wholesale silk fern selection is great, but in certain cases such a variety of complex shapes may begin to look a little busy. The silk sunflowers he adds in the next step helps provide a simple counterbalance for a nice even look.

The wholesale silk sunflowers he uses next have tall strong stems, giving the arrangement a touch of exaggerated height. He points out that he is making these insertions in groups – this smart technique makes a stronger and bolder impression with whatever kind of component you happen to be using.

With sunflowers, Tom makes mention that each one has a “face”. When those faces are facing directly toward the viewer, it can cause the eye to stop and settle on that unique focal point. This is the reason he bends the stem of each silk sunflower so that the face is pointing upward. This keeps the eye moving across the piece so viewers can take in the entire composition to full effect.

Silk maple leaves, the next addition, serve as a fantastic color interest. Tom takes advantage of the longer stems to continue building height and then begins filling in any gaps in the arrangement.

And finally – nothing says fall quite like little pumpkins. Tom uses the wholesale artificial pumpkin assortment from Pioneer and begins decorating the composition with these charming little additions. While you can wire these in place if needed, Tom repurposes the trimmed-off portions of stems from this arrangement to create little stakes to hold each artificial pumpkin in place.

This autumn permanent botanical arrangement is a breathtaking piece for fall events, interior design projects, window displays, and so much more – a quick way to get your customers and clients into the seasonal spirit.

Bright and lifelike artificial lemon leaf serves as the first addition. Vonda inserts each individual piece to create an initial well-balanced volume ready to build upon. Silk cabbage rose in pink sangria comes next – just two pieces make a tremendous impression on their own.

Next comes silk hydrangea in breathtaking peacock blue, followed by silk hydrangea in the pumpkin spice colorway. She inserts each new selection in bold blocks of color. Realistic artificial echeveria succulents are the final addition. These she intersperses throughout, effectively softening the profile and bringing depth to the green of the silk foliage.

These centerpieces are built in two sizes of the modern “Editor” pot in gold – a fantastic option for sophisticated fall styles.

Vonda begins with artificial foliage to establish a strong and alluring sense of texture. She uses silk fern bush in brown, building up volume in each of the containers. Artificial saw & heather fern in a lighter green adds a touch of contrast.

Next, Vonda begins adding wholesale silk flowers from Pioneer, starting with the larger container. She inserts yellow gold silk hydrangea first. The next additions, silk dahlia, are from the pumpkin spice colorway – perfect for the autumn season. Vonda then works in sections to create attractive color blocks with silk peony in pure red.

Vonda repeats this process within the smaller container, but on a smaller scale. She keeps this one simple with silk peony in pure red and bold silk cabbage rose in pumpkin spice.
