Make Prom Special

Prom is a very special day in a student's high school years.  By making it extra special and embracing the emotional aspect of Prom, you create followers for your business.  Teaching customers that their events are just as important to you as they are to them creates a unique bond that the customer will remember.  We are selling emotions as much as we are flowers.  Here are some unique ways of how to complete and present your orders to these young customers.

  • When you first present the flowers, ask if they would like you to open the boxes so they can get a closer look.  Use a pretty logo sticker on the corsage and boutonniere boxes, as well as tie the boxes with a simple sheer ribbon to match your logo.  
  • Use a nice gift bag with tissue and a ribbon tie to package the corsage boxes.  This is a special purchase, and it may be with their own money, so making them feel like a very special customer on this day will add to their memories of doing busines at your shop.
  • Include a thank you note from your shop with the order.  This is a commonly overlooked practice that increases your customer connection.  This shares with the customer the importance of their order to your store and business.
  • Tag me!  Ask them to tag your shop with their photos to show off your work on social media.  Have a contest that every tag will get entered into a drawing for a prize.
  • If it's important to you to recycle, attach a card that they will receive a free flower when they recycle the corsage box(es) to you in good condition.  Many people are more than happy to drop off items that can be used again.

These are just a few simple ways to make your customers feel special and appreciated.  This will help them remember your business for future events in their lives.
