Make Prom Profitable

Don't underestimate how vital additional sales are to the success of your small business.  This additional income can be generated from upgraded Prom sales, which can be done in more than one way.  Here are a few suggestions:

Create a Prom Buffet

Build a display area of Prom accessories, along with fabric in the latest color trends.  Price all of the items in this area and let them create their own design.  Have sample corsages made to show how the items are used, and they will see the difference between a simple design and a design with added items.  Package their items in a corsage bag with the order ticket, and it's ready for the designer.

Offer a rose special with every corsage order

Offer a single rose, triple rose, and a six or twelve stem bouquet of roses at a special prom price if they order early.  These can be ready on the day of Prom and wrapped with pretty ribbons.  

Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend!

Girls love shiny things!  Once they try on a bracelet, they will have to have it.  Allow them to try on the jewelry.  Encourage them to bring in their dress or a photo of their dress.  This will help you to guide them to the right colors, flowers, and accessories to create the perfect corsage and boutonniere.  Create an order form that has the extra items listed with prices, making it easy and accurate for your staff member to total the order, as well as a menu for the designer to follow.  

Selling add-on sales for Prom is a great way to increase sales in your store.  Share these ideas and expectations with your team.  Doing just one of the above ideas will increase your profits, and the extra attention given to these young new customers is sure to bring repeat business in the future.
