If you prebooked baskets with Pioneer this summer, you are well on your way to a successful season with promotional discounts, locked-in pricing, and guaranteed supply. We also provided marketing tools to floral and gift professionals to take some pressure off during the busy season.
Timing is key. If you expect an influx of orders beginning in November, now is peak planning time. You’ve already selected your basket inventory from the prebook (check!), so this month, plan your seasonal designs and order the gifts and floral items you’ll use inside. Don’t forget the cello, ribbon and shred you may need to complete the presentation.
To help you clear that next stage gate, we’ve invested in photography and product as a bonus part of the prebook program. By participating in our prebook program, you were provided the option to receive our marketing toolkit including product samples and digital images to use on your social media or website.
Time to create a test design (or more than one) with your product sample!
If you elected to receive the marketing package you should have received a free sample basket from your prebook order. (If not, email us!) With a sample of your basket, experiment with the best gift assortment or floral design for your customers. Test what items make a beautiful arrangement, and when you’ve settled on a design, snap some photos to add to marketing materials and your ecommerce website. By building these months before your seasonal rush, you’ll be able spend the busy season focusing on design and service while your website and social media are already scheduled and running.
By working with your sample basket, you also know how much product to order – from gift items to flowers and plants. While our website tells you every detail and dimension, we know there is nothing like being hands-on with an item to see how everything fits and looks, so get creative!
When building a test design, you can also get an understanding of the labor involved and the time it takes to complete. This will help you plan accordingly for the busy season. When you know your material costs and the time spent, you know how many orders you can accept each day and how to staff your shop.

Finally, in an era where attracting and retaining staff is of the utmost importance, you can use your product sample as a fun opportunity among yourselves. Perhaps each day, a staff member gets a chance to design the gift basket in their own way, showing off different design and business ideas. Take photos and post them in your back room, showing you remember they're design savvy. For staff who loves a friendly competition, you can even post these photos online and ask customers to vote on their favorite. The contest may provide you with real, practical and beautiful designs you can easily retail. Show your staff you value their input and let their creative juices flow!
Product Photography
If you elected to receive the marketing package, a link to download photos of your baskets was sent with your order confirmation. We grant you permission to use our photos on your own website and social media for consumer outreach. Pique customer interest by posting the empty baskets on Instagram or Facebook and caption the post: “How would you fill this basket?” “Imagine this gift basket filled with our custom creations.” or “We are prepping for the season and can’t wait to fill these gorgeous baskets for you!” Posts like this build anticipation, excitement and awareness through the fall.
If you offer a ‘build your own’ basket program, the bare product shots will help show customers their base options. With baskets coming in many shapes and colors, customers will appreciate the personalization you provide. Product shots are ready to upload to your business website or put into corporate account presentations to showcase the custom options available this year.
