Business Baskets – Corporate Gifting How-To’s

Business Baskets – Corporate Gifting How-To’s

Corporate accounts provide volume. With defined production parameters, efficient and consistent work can be highly profitable.

How To Build Corporate Gift Basket Clientele

It may seem intimidating, but consider that every business in your area has employees and clients. Even partnering with small businesses is worth it -- 10 baskets are more profitable than 1!

Build a short list of businesses you’d like to do business with. To begin, simply ask yourself:

  1. Who are the other companies whose brands and culture align with mine?
  1. Who is accessible to me? Identify companies with a simple purchasing process or proximity that you can service face-to-face to solidify the relationship and reduce transport costs and risks.
  1. Who do I, and my staff, have relationships with? Don’t undervalue current relationships! If you are a loyal customer somewhere, have neighboring businesses where you are located, or a connection to a buyer, start with these warm connections.

When speaking with a potential client, remind them that corporate gifts increase feelings of reciprocity and trust resulting in higher customer loyalty, increased referral rates, and improved employee retention.

Gift baskets are exceedingly good at this because of the gesture of curating an array of products that will excite all your recipients. You don’t have to put all your eggs in the same basket (literally). Multiple gifts take your intention to the next level.

Whether it’s via email or in person, never approach a business without showing an example of what you can do. It’s helpful to use our marketing toolkit to visually show customers what they can expect when partnering with you.

Win an account with your passion. They might see corporate gifts as just something on their list of things to do. Show them you are about creating a memorable experience that reflects well on their organization.

How To Build Corporate Gift Baskets

The best corporate gifts surprise and delight, exuding the brand personality, with a dose of practicality. Today’s consumers like to receive something that is both beautiful and functional.

Selecting thoughtful products is the first step to ensuring your recipients will love their custom gift basket. Here are a few helpful questions to ask yourself while you’re selecting items:

  • How would I feel if I received this gift item?
  • How do I want my recipient to feel when they receive this gift?
  • Do these gifts reflect the company’s values and culture?
  • Do these gifts effectively communicate how I feel about my recipients and how I value them?

Next, your gift packaging can really turn up the wow-factor. The basket, filler and ribbon can be as remarkable as the gift itself. Knowing this, Pioneer specializes in the size, strength and specialty fit you need from our baskets and their creation. Just check out this blog on how we’ve made wine baskets more efficient! There are also occasions when another container, like a wooden box, brings different personality to a gift design.

Regarding packaging materials, paper shred makes the gift a little more special and protects the gifts inside. This, and the ribbon, can also carry corporate colors for a subtle branding.

How To Start

Corporate accounts can be communicated with at any time. Unlike consumers who are shopping within a certain window of time for an event, fellow businesses enjoy the lowered stress that comes from having decisions locked in earlier in the year. So, start early! Start now! By starting early, you can avoid product shortages, shipping nightmares, and you can stand apart from the competition.

Although certain times of year bring more business, remember that gifting isn’t seasonal. In working with corporate clients, you can also build turnkey models for employee anniversaries, promotions, retirements and other milestones. No matter the recipient or time of year, the goal is the same with all gift-giving: create a sense of connection!
