Like a Fine Wine: The Wine Country Collection from Pioneer Imports & Wholesale

When we created our Wine Country Collection, we knew it would help three types of designers:

1.  The designer with events at a vineyard.

The number of local wineries with event space is growing at a steady clip. Since 2009, the number of wineries in the country has grown by more than 50 percent. Chances are you’ve had one open in a suburb near you in this boom of local wineries and breweries with event spaces.

When you start with your venue as the launchpad for your palette it becomes the guiding light because of the colors and textures you find there. Designers know to let the site speak for itself. To compliment the abundance and natural beauty, centerpieces, arches, aisles, and bouquets should echo the materials all around.

Flowers are going to need to pop in deep red and warm purple to tie in. We love regal purple, and (of course) grape and wine. But there is no limit to the shades of purple we offer to suit every client. Layering a few for a monochromatic palette is popular too. Foliage can include verdant greens, as well as wine and brown grasses.

When lush greenery is the backdrop for wedding photos, these contrasting flowers really make a difference. And, be prepared for sun. Beyond a trusted color match, using permanent botanicals lowers the stress of flower life concerns during a wedding ceremony.

2.  The designer who has a client who wants to feel like they are at a vineyard.

To override your venue architecture or color of carpet, wallpaper, or curtains is going to be impossible, but perhaps you’re given a neutral, blank slate. Here is a great opportunity to add branches, vines, dripping flowers, hanging greenery even faux berries bring the grapelike detail in with texture and color. Wine Country creates a beautiful color palette that your client will adore.

Beyond the flowers, we considered translating the vineyard style in the other mechanics floral designers need. Premade vine wreathes can lay flat on a table, creating a texture that encircles a vase, container or large candle and bring the grapevine look through. Or you may want to consider a container already covered in bark to get the natural elements you need. A matte ceramic is reminiscent of the vineyard floor, and using natural bud vases in a composite arrangement or in small moments can really show your attention to detail.

3.  The designer who wants home décor supplies that are equally natural and sophisticated.

Wine Country makes a great jumping off point for home décor too. Draw inspiration from the burgundies, mauves and deep reds for your florals. Dark blooms create a great, natural contrast between the elegant flowers and green and brown rustic elements.

Consider this the palette for a sophisticated and elegant client who is also drawn to woody elements.

Vineyards are filled with an abundance of natural beauty. Draw inspiration from the rich colors of the grapes, leaves and vines for a palette intense enough for fall, and elegant enough for events. See the full collection here:  The Wine Country Collection
