Art Imitates Life, the Autumn Brushstroke Collection

Art Imitates Life, the Autumn Brushstroke Collection

Autumn Brushstroke is a collection with a double meaning.  First, September and October effectively paint our fields and sky with warm hues. The flowers in this collection translate this literally.  The result is a color palette, when used together, creates the ideal autumn ombré effect. A beautiful transition from summer to fall, many flowering varieties are still prevalent in nature at this time of year, but bloom in more golden hues, and sunsets wash over them.

There’s such a diversity of choices in the fall, not only flowers but other organic elements that bring the season to life. Modern foliage, like ruscus, drape and balance the bold blooms. Terracotta containers have an elegant, old-world quality and a complementary tone to the season’s flowers. Even ribbon in golden ale and wine is reminiscent of the seasonal events and matches new silk flower varieties to coordinate bouquets and wreathes.

But the modern imitations of natural flowering plants are what make this collection groundbreaking, and the cornerstone is a new hydrangea variety.

As horticulturists create new varieties, we follow closely. To match the varieties popping up in autumn, our talented color artists manufacture each flower by hand. Using watercolor and multiple blending processes to get it just right. The realistic depth of blended color on every petal makes the most realistic hydrangea we’ve created.

Secondly, Autumn Brushstrokes serves as a reminder that designing with silk flowers is a true art form. We understand working with the faux florals are an artistic representation of the beauty found in nature and we strive to match that. We take our mission seriously to provide the tools floral artists need to imitate life.

Permanent botanicals enhance a room just as any other beautiful piece of art.  Just as someone may display replica print or photograph in their home, that does not detract from the beauty because it is not the “original.”  Likewise, we strive to manufacture flowers and foliage with every bit of the realistic impact of the original. And we believe your customers are being persuaded.

Country Living Magazine editors were quoted last month stating, “We're not talking about the fake flowers your grandmother used to have that collected dust. The faux flowers of today use a variety of materials and shading patterns to give them an incredibly realistic appearance. We'd venture to say that even the pickiest gardener might not be able to tell the difference.

We are proud to say that with collections like ours, faux florals are gaining popularity.

For lovers of art and nature, this collection delivers.

The metallic urn anchors this arrangement with the multiple new hydrangea colors  – purple/pink, lilac/brown and sunset. Layering them at different heights, mimicking how the bush would grow, it looks more alive.
