Neutral Artistry: True Style Goes Beyond Color Alone

Neutral Artistry: True Style Goes Beyond Color Alone

Classic, yet approachable. This clean, color-less palette means the attention paid to  form, balance and texture is heightened. Customers will be intrigued and look deeper into the details of your arrangements when using the Neutral Artistry collection. With a variety of permanent botanicals, from soft hydrangea to ruddy wheat, a rich achromatic design is easily achieved. It is this variety of elements, and thoughtful cohesiveness in color, that allows you to focus on line, form and texture in your designs.

By contrast, in the Seasons of Change collection, color is the first element to catch your eye. With a neutral palette, first thing your eyes read is form. This allows individual flowers to stand out! All the more reason to make sure you’re using quality materials when working in a neutral palette.  Every petal and spike is noticeable.

Even though it’s not the primary element, we were extremely conscious of perfecting the right neutral hues when curating this collection. These shades of white have a warm undertone – parchment, cream. This complements warm woods, wool fabrics and natural stone in interior design. The hints of warm color bring coziness, not starkness.

The versatility of this creamy palette also takes you through the year. Mixed with fall textures like apple slices and pampass grass, clients get the look of seasons changing.  For example, our new cream sunflowers look like the real thing fading with shorter days. Tom Bowling, AIFD, comments, “A seasonal flower like a sunflower once bleached now has no seasonality to its usage.”

And white pumpkins can stay out long into November (and continue to soar in popularity.) Creamy whites carry designs into the frostiness of winter.

Yes, neutrals appeal to a variety of clients year-round because of their sophisticated elegance. Using them in events also brings a level of formality.

“Consider components that have multiple uses in your buying,” reminded Bowling. “There is so much versatility in this collection, so you’re not limited.”

Even containers cover a spectrum of materials and finishes. Because this collection is about layers of texture, ceramic, metal and wood containers ground the design style from formal to rustic. This collection gives you the tools to be the artist of your neutral need.
