There’s No Place Like Home Offices
If you Googled “Inspiring Home Office” or “Best Home Offices” right now, do you know what you would find in every single image result? Green plants. Florists, garden centers and interior designers everywhere, rejoice! People are getting it! Now what do you do to capitalize on the market?
How you merchandise your selection in store and/or online will make all the difference. People are buying for the aesthetic when it comes to home offices. They want a look, not another project to maintain. Show them the lifelike varieties you have, along with the cool containers that can match any color or style, and they will be sold.
Clients will likely not come to you asking for artificial flowers, but will love the benefits. Upon seeing them, they will be inspired. You really can’t tell the difference.
Artificial plants give people what they want in a home office environment.
Here are a few things to remind yourself, and your customers when it comes to artificial plants and the home office:
- It is zero maintenance. Anyone who thinks they don’t have a green thumb can still enjoy this option.
- There is no risk of dirt or water when you’re around electronics and valuable files. Artificial plants won’t make them think twice.
- Color inspires productivity. Green makes people think of success, growth, health and peace. These are good any time but especially in a potentially stressful and deadline-driven workplace. Green evokes a feeling of abundance, safety, and stability…. Thoughts any professional dreams of feeling throughout the workday!
- It brings color – and stays colorful! Without the color, a plant isn’t going to do a lot of good. This is a key reason starting someone with a faux tree or plant may be best. A plant with browning leaves and drooping stems isn’t going to inspire, it’s going to cause another stress of something to do in the home office, when the goal is to be most productive on the task at hand.
- They add ambiance and don’t take up precious space. Plants are one of the few décor pieces that can hang from the ceiling or sit on the floor out of the way and bring all the beautiful benefits. Hang it without worry - weight of silk is not the issue it is with live plants' soil, water and root systems. Most only take a single hook or screw! So if your home office is small, even a converted closet or corner, I bet you aren't using your ceiling.
Whether your client is finally coming to terms with making their home office feel like a place s/he wants to stay a while, or looking for a spring refresh, silk plants and flowers are going to make it easy and beautiful.
