Silk sunflowers are a must-have for today's floral designs. They appeal to a wide range of customers: from those seeking a bright and cheerful pop of color every day, to those who envision the Tuscan countryside or a garden-style escape at their next event.
Floral designers also are incorporating sunflowers into modern arrangements because of their clean lines and geometric shapes. Their giant blooms allow for innovation in scale and texture.
Because sunflowers work well in both classic and modern arrangements, they are a versatile choice to have on hand.
About Sunflower Season
Fresh sunflowers have a short season, giving floral designers a limited window. Additionally, relying on fresh sunflowers can be risky due to weather conditions that affect availability. Silk sunflowers offer a reliable alternative, ensuring you always have beautiful sunflowers on hand for your clients. By considering colors and textures beyond summer, designers can create unique arrangements.
About Our Pioneer’s Silk Sunflower Colors
Using silk sunflowers allows for more creative freedom. While natural sunflowers might not bloom in creamy white or be difficult to find in burgundy, Pioneer offers varieties that extend beyond the natural world yet feel familiar. With silk sunflowers, the color palette isn't limited to nature's sunshine hues, giving designers and customers a unique option and the chance to stand out.
We offer a broad variety of handcrafted sunflowers that provide the realistic color variations found in nature. Our current color selection of sunflowers includes: Beige, Burgundy, Cream, Gold/Yellow, Nutmeg, Orange and Yellow.

Explore silk sunflowers in deeper hues like burgundy or burnt orange to create a more autumnal feel while still enjoying the sunflower's cheerful presence. Use them alongside pumpkins, gourds, and fall foliage in centerpieces or arrangements. Alternatively, try a muted or monochromatic design incorporating pinecones, acorns, and wheat stalks for a warm and inviting atmosphere.
How Pioneer’s Silk Sunflowers Look & Feel
Our silk flower varieties are created with keen attention to detail. This is just one of the ways silk flowers can help reduce stress when planning events or shop days. Silk sunflowers, like their real-life counterparts, boast large, round petals and add a cheerful presence. Our sunflowers are available in a variety of sizes, mimicking the natural variations found in nature.
We offer sunflower bushes, sunflower stems, and sunflower picks with stem lengths ranging from 12 inches up to 29 inches. This range allows designers to achieve realistic sunflower heights in their designs.
We also offer 11-inch premade bundles perfect for grab-and-go arrangements, petite bouquets, or additions to gift baskets. Additionally, our 12-inch mini sunflower bushes are ideal for adding to wreaths, corsages, boutonnieres, or arrangements.
The silk sunflowers themselves have dozens of individual petals radiating outward from the center of the flower head, creating a dazzling crown-like effect. Sunflower petals are broad and flat, resembling large, elongated ovals with a slight taper towards the base where they connect to the flower head. Real sunflower petals are smooth, with a soft, velvety feel. When using our silk variety, it’s easy to fool the eye because of their lifelike presentation. Our fabric petals are even subtly folded, creating veins that run vertically, adding depth and visual interest.

Some sunflower varieties may have petals that are slightly cupped or ruffled at the edges, and we offer this style as well depending on the look designers need. Overall, you can find artificial sunflowers at Pioneer with diameters ranging from 1-2 inches in our mini’s, and 3.5 inches up to 7 inches in our bushes and stems.
About Silk Sunflower Prices
Any seasonal, fresh-cut flower can be expensive. Pioneer’s high-quality silk sunflowers offer a much more affordable alternative, at a fraction of the cost. When in season, a fresh sunflower can cost between $2 and $4 each, while our most premium silk sunflower is less than $1 per bloom, and our value items even less.
Fresh flowers also come with strict time constraints. For optimal freshness, they need to be delivered just days before an event, leaving little time for design and preparation. This can be stressful for florists. Silk flowers allow for more flexibility; floral arrangements can be designed well in advance, reducing stress and labor costs.
There's also the risk of damage with fresh flowers during transportation or wilting in hot temperatures outdoors. With silk sunflowers, you can be confident that every bloom will arrive in perfect condition, maximizing your profitability.
From classic sunny yellow to rich burgundy with a chocolatey-brown center, silk sunflowers offer a vibrant range of color options. Our meticulous attention to detail ensures a silk sunflower to match any need.
