Video: Mayleigh Metal Cuff Bracelet Design

In this quick video demonstration, Tom Bowling AIFD PFCI shows off a prom idea for 2020 using elements from the Pioneer Imports & Wholesale catalog.

This look starts with the Mayleigh bracelet from Fitz Design – a beautiful cuff bracelet with a metallic look, available in a variety of colorways. Pioneer is a distributor for Fitz Design, giving customers convenient access to a range of versatile prom season accessories like this one.

Tom will be creating a vibrant permanent botanical corsage bracelet for this quick tutorial. To prepare the Mayleigh bracelet, he lets the ribbon unfurl. He then ties the ribbon into a strong knot to prevent any kind of slippages or challenges later. He cuts off the excess ribbon because he doesn't want the tail ends to show in the final composition. Now the disc platform is ready for work.

Of course, one of the advantages of using permanent botanicals is the ability to use silk flowers when the fresh counterpart may not work as well. In this case, Tom is using silk hydrangea.

He coats the bracelet disk with a layer of liquid floral adhesive in preparation. He also coats the back of a bow tied from gentle blue Amalina ribbon. He lets both items rest to give the adhesive a moment to set up. At the same time, Tom squeezes out a little puddle of adhesive so that he can easily work with it later.

Tom knows when the adhesive is ready to use because it begins to dull, so he takes this opportunity to attach the ribbon to the bracelet disk.

Now, he begins adding little bits of silk foliage around the collar of the design. You can see him dip the bits of foliage into the adhesive puddle before attaching, giving the composition that strong glue-on-glue bond. These elements can be prepared well in advance before prom season, especially the ones used for your prom displays.

Tom begins applying the silk hydrangea next. He works his way from the outside and into the center. Tom notes that the blues and burgundies are especially popular right now – making the color theme choice especially easy.

You can see him sometimes lifting the bow and working the silk hydrangea beneath and between. This gives the bow a little more dimension while making sure it maintains a bit of prominence throughout the design. He finishes the arrangement by adding a few more pieces of artificial greenery where needed.

The result is so fun and fresh, bright with an on-trend color palette for prom season.

Tom suggests showing prom season design on your website as well. As prom attendees are looking for places to pick up their corsages, displaying a nice variety on your website may help them feel more confident in their search. This may be the first time many of them are buying permanent botanicals, especially personal permanent botanicals.

You can find the silk hydrangeas, Mayleigh cuff bracelet, and ribbon used in this video demonstration all available within the Pioneer Imports & Wholesale catalog. Let Pioneer help you stay one step ahead of upcoming prom trends with a wide variety of silk flowers, accessories, artificial foliage options, and beyond.
