Modern Classics

Any resurgence of a style modernizes things a bit, and Modern Classics is no exception. We are having a Greek revival, revival! Without even realizing it, homeowners have been gravitating to the Greek revival style for years…Open floor plans, high ceilings, wood floors, marble countertops, moldings, corbels, columns… all have ties to Greek revival.

As you layer décor into your customers’ homes, people continue to love white. Even if it’s not marble – stone, ceramic, and painted white finishes all fit this style.  Help homeowners achieve a clean, versatile look with the Trevi vase. It makes a great gift too with its interesting detail and functional use.

Containers are just one way to give a nod to this architectural style. You can also celebrate the open space and draw the eye with floral material that is organic and draping. It helps to soften the stark white and rigid pillars common in this style too.

And to really carry the look and feel, use flower and foliage varieties found in the Mediterranean.

You can easily imagine a neutral stone garden wall and apply the same principal to neutral homes. Creeping ivy with no maintenance fits right in. Succulents also fit the draught tolerant gardens of Greece.  And is there anything more classic to this area than an olive tree?

When layering colors, they are subtle, worn hues.  Natural shades of green, yellow and peach bring the warmth and feeling of sunrise and a fresh start. Try accenting with our new Bellini vase or warm terracotta to fit right in.

Modern Classic Events

Greek revival is perhaps even more prevalent when you are designing special events. There are thousands of historic venues nationwide that were built in this time period. Classic buildings from 1830-1860 including homes, federal buildings, and other historical landmarks have grand terraces, pillars, openness, and classic stonework. From San Francisco to the Hudson Bay designers have been challenged to work in these venues for special events. Giving you the supplies to complement these event sites in a modern, classic way, this collection is the answer to your request.

We know you work at these venues repeatedly and need to ensure the floral designs match the architectural bones you are given. Having a readily available supply in this style is key. And because this style should have a collected, artisan feeling, we made sure to bring in a variety of containers, with the proportions you need for floral, and still evoke the modern classic feeling.

Special events also mean bouquets and corsages. Grecian gowns continue to be popular in fashion, so aligning floral accessories is a must. As recent as 2020, Dior was referencing Grecian styles at Paris Fashion Week! Buff and ginger colors were also shown, edging out blush pink tones of years past. We know fast-fashion quickly brings runway styles to the masses, so with classic brushed metal cuffs and lifelike faux flowers, you’re ready for your client’s requests.

Warm up a new home, modernize an event venue, and give classic detail to body flowers all with the Modern Classics collection.
